Rwanda: Tanzania Army sends students on Rwanda witness

A group of Army students from Tanzania is in Rwanda to witness how Rwanda has been doing its thing especially in development programmes.

The delegation comprised of Generals 28 generals and seniors was headed by Brig. Gen. Ezekiel Elias Kyunga, the Commandant of the Tanzania Command and Staff College in Monduli, paid a courtesy call on the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Charles Kayonga.

According to Kyuna year’s course required the army to bring students to Rwanda so that they can have an opportunity to learn what is happening on ground.

“We thought it would be necessary that students  come to this country and look at the efforts that Rwanda is undertaking to enhance development of its people.”

“Through classroom theory, students learn about regional countries, and “need to make a detailed study on the economy, politics and general development of a country.”

They also visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial site to witness where victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The group arrived in the country on September 1, 2012 and plans to spend 7 days of learning and experiencing the country.

Kyunga, said that during the course of studies, students have a programme whereby they are required to visit foreign countries to enhance their knowledge.
